Overview
Healthy Harvest Corps (HHC) is an Ameri Corps program administered by the Ohio Association of Foodbanks as part of a coordinated statewide effort to expand and sustain Food Is Medicine initiatives. These initiatives recognize access to healthy food as a critical component of improving health outcomes and overall well‑being. Ameri Corps volunteers will play an important role in addressing hunger as a social determinant of health by supporting programs that connect individuals and families with nutritious food resources.
Through the Healthy Harvest Corps program, OAF will place 13 Ameri Corps members at 8 host sites across Ohio to support Food Is Medicine initiatives and strengthen community‑based hunger relief efforts. This position is located at Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio and served more than 404,000 people in FY2025.
Job Location:
Greater Cleveland Food Bank (Cleveland, OH). The Food Bank’s programs include pantries, on‑site meal providers, shelters, and other non‑profit organizations including children’s after‑school and summer programs, senior programs, and rehabilitation programs.
- One position focuses on healthcare partnerships and referral systems, strengthening connections between healthcare providers, Medicaid organizations, and food access programs through screenings, referrals, and partner engagement.
- A second role centers on community nutrition and Healthy Eating Research (HER) and Supporting Wellness at Pantries (SWAP) implementation, leading nutrition education, cooking demonstrations, and pantry‑based wellness programming.
- The third position coordinates medically supportive grocery box and delivery programs, managing food packing, volunteer coordination, participant engagement, inventory systems, and community‑based research activities.
These roles provide hands‑on experience in public health, nutrition, healthcare partnerships, food access operations, and community engagement.
