About the Associate, Women IN Philanthropy position:

This role will work as part of the Women IN Philanthropy (WinP) team (which is a Campaign division) with the goal of increasing women’s participation in the Campaign for Jewish Needs. As part of the WinP team, the successful candidate will manage specific elements of the Signature Event and the MaIN Event;
WinP awards process;
Impact
365 Giving Society;
Pomegranate Giving Society; K’sharim programming; other related projects including new WinP initiatives; and general Campaign projects and assignments. Additionally, this role will assist in the planning and execution of the WinP Coaching Circles program. The role will be part of the WinP Campaign team, managing Campaigners and soliciting prospects.

This position is full-time and reports to the Senior Director, Women IN Philanthropy.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Serve as key member of the Campaign Management Team providing vision, strategy, and new approaches for year-round stewardship of Campaign for Jewish Needs donors and potential donors.
  • In partnership with Campaign team, assist in execution of key Campaign events.
  • Responsible for a portfolio of Women IN Philanthropy (WinP) events, activities, and projects.
  • Oversee planning and execution of WinP Awards including serving as liaison with award families, soliciting nominations, and publication of award materials.
  • Serve as lead staff member for the WinP Impact
    365 Giving Society, Pomegranate Giving Society, and K’sharim programming, working with the WinP Senior Director to identify strategic engagement opportunities that steward donors and increase their Federation participatio.
  • Participate as a member of the WinP Campaign Team.
  • Manage a team of volunteer solicitors, acting as their liaison for the Campaign for Jewish Needs providing relevant updates, information, and motivation to complete their solicitation.
  • Solicit assigned prospects and identify new individuals with potential to give.
  • Serve as development officer for a portfolio of donors, responsible for cultivation and stewardship. This may include dedicated donors, people who are newer to Federation involvement, or future or current Coaching Circles participants.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Jewish Community and culture.
  • Capacity to be a project manager, moving quickly from project-to-project and idea to execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and prioritize strategic imperatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely with colleagues and partner effectively with departments across the organization.
  • Strong relationship building skills with colleagues and donors.
  • Self-starter and comfort managing up.
  • Comfort with donors from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Commitment and passion for soliciting and raising funds to meet the growing needs of the community.
  • Act as a team player.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and focus on being solution oriented.
  • Excels at operating independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and keep tasks moving at expected pace.
  • Experience and comfort with CRM systems, data analytic tools, and Microsoft Office.

Education, Training, and/or Experience

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience. Previous Hillel, Federation, and/or non-profit fundraising experience a plus.
