** Business/Facilities Manager & Pastor### Position Summary St. Colman Church is seeking a caring, energetic, and faith-filled
** Catholic Youth Outreach & Ministry Coordinator
** to develop and lead a welcoming youth ministry for children and teenagers in the parish and surrounding community.

The Youth Coordinator will create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where young people can build friendships, develop leadership skills, participate in meaningful activities, and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith.

Because St. Colman serves an inner-city and increasingly diverse community, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working with young people from a variety of cultural, economic, and family backgrounds. The successful candidate will be able to build trust with youth and families and meet young people where they are.### Essential Responsibilities#### Youth Ministry & Faith Formation
* Develop and coordinate a consistent youth ministry program for middle school and high school students.
* Plan regular youth gatherings incorporating faith, fellowship, discussion, prayer, and fun.
* Encourage youth participation in Mass, parish events, retreats, service projects, and other Catholic activities.
* Help prepare and coordinate age-appropriate religious education and faith formation opportunities.
* Recruit and develop adult and young adult volunteers to assist with youth ministry.#### Mentoring & Relationship Building
* Build positive, trusting relationships with youth and serve as a caring adult role model.
* Provide encouragement and mentorship to young people who may be experiencing challenges at home, school, or in their community.
* Maintain appropriate communication with youth and families while following all parish, diocesan, and safe-environment requirements.
* Work collaboratively with parents, parish staff, teachers, and community organizations to support the well-being of young people.#### After-School Programming
* Establish consistent after-school hours for children and teens during the school week.
* Provide a safe and welcoming environment where young people can gather, socialize, and receive positive adult guidance.
* Offer homework assistance, tutoring, computer access, and other educational enrichment opportunities.
* Develop age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, confidence, and leadership.
* Incorporate games, sports, arts and crafts, music, and other recreational activities.
* Provide opportunities for informal faith formation, prayer, and age-appropriate discussions about Catholic values.
* Offer healthy snacks and, when appropriate, meals to participating youth.
* Connect youth with other parish resources, including the computer center, community garden, food pantry, and outreach programs.
* Encourage older youth to take on leadership and mentoring responsibilities within the program.#### Service & Outreach
* Develop opportunities for youth to serve the parish and surrounding community.
* Coordinate youth participation in the food pantry, community garden, community meals, neighborhood outreach, and other service initiatives.
* Help young people understand Catholic social teaching and the importance of serving those who are vulnerable and in need.
* Encourage youth to recognize their gifts and use them to make a positive difference in their community.#### Youth Leadership
* Establish opportunities for older youth to serve as peer leaders and mentors.
* Encourage youth to take ownership of activities and projects.
* Develop leadership skills through service, planning, teamwork, and community involvement.
* Help youth understand that they have an important role in the future of the Catholic Church.### Qualifications
* Strong commitment to the Catholic faith and the mission of the Catholic Church.
* Experience working with children, teenagers, or young adults.
* Ability to connect with youth in a friendly, respectful, and non-judgmental manner.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating with parish staff and volunteers.
* Experience planning youth activities, educational programs, or community events preferred.
