This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will function in the Veterans Addiction Recovery Center (VARC) section within Nursing Psychiatry Service.
Major Duties:
1) Serves as a role model in assessing and evaluating patient status and prioritizes care based on patient acuity and identified needs.
2) Demonstrates leadership with groups in developing appropriate patient centered plan of care. Develops the initial nursing plan and updates the plan, serving as a resource person to less experienced staff, and acts as a leader in developing standards of care.
3) Includes patient/family/significant other/health care provider in establishing realistic, measurable goals related to health education and treatment plan and in planning care on a continuum; assists staff in the process of mutual goal setting.
4) Utilizes problem solving methodologies to resolve problems that impact on patient care or staff performance at the unit or work group level.
5) Demonstrates effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperation and interdisciplinary team work.
Preferred Experience:
RN with BSN and 2-3 years experience
providing care to patients with substance use
disorders.
