Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown / Progressive Care
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Stepdown/Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a leading academic medical center. The nurse will provide care for patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level care while supporting a high-acuity cardiovascular and telemetry patient population.
Schedule
- 3x12-Hour Shifts Only
- Rotating Days/Nights
- 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Preferred shift will be considered; however, rotation may be required based on operational needs.
- Must work every other holiday.
- Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License required at submission
- BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS (AHA) required
- NIHSS Certification required
- Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown experience required
- Minimum 18 months of combined permanent nursing experience in the specialty required
- Travel experience accepted toward specialty experience requirements
- PCU/Progressive Care experience preferred
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to stepdown and progressive care patients.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry findings.
- Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care when appropriate.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
