Job OverviewThe Metro Health System, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University, Urology division is seeking a full–time Advanced Practice Practitioner (In & Outpatient). The successful candidate will deliver direct patient care consistent with advanced practice registered nurse education, experience, and certification, in collaboration with a physician. Duties include diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues.
Responsibilities- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and assessment services to urology patients in the hospital, ASC, and office settings.
- Manage acute and chronic urologic conditions, including general urology (urinary dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, stone disease), urologic oncology (prostate, bladder, or kidney cancers), and reconstructive urology (including gender‑affirmative care and post‑trauma care).
- Provide education, disease prevention, and pre‑operative and post‑operative instruction.
- See patients independently, as well as in collaboration with a physician.
- Maintain a pleasant and professional image and demonstrate compassion and empathy in interactions with others.
- Plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks in a timely manner.
- MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code.
- Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program.
- Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio.
- Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Graduate of an accredited Doctoral or MS Physician Assistant program.
- Current PA licensure in the State of Ohio.
- Board Certification as a Physician Assistant from NCCP and Current BLS.
- Meets the requirements/qualifications for medical staff clinical privileges in the specialty/department within Metro Health.
- Maintains a supervision agreement with physician and renews as required by the Ohio Board of Medicine.
- Urology experience (at least 6 months of training in clinical urology will be provided for candidates with no prior exposure).
- Expertise in sexual health.
- High quality nursing competence and strong patient communication and engagement skills.
- Experience with diverse patient populations.
