New Grad RN Resident - Metabolic Surgery

About This Role

The New Grad RN Resident in the Metabolic Surgery Unit at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus provides direct nursing care to patients undergoing Bariatric Surgery. This role is ideal for recent nursing graduates looking to develop their skills in a supportive and team‑oriented environment.

• Pay: $35.50 - $55.60/hour

• Department/Unit: Metabolic Surgery Unit
• Schedule: Full-time, Day shift

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care based on acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce, or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.
• Comply with established hospital/department personnel policies.
• Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
• Initiate and/or maintain interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• BSN preferred.

Experience:

• New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
