Coordinates clinical care of the bariatric surgery patient. Develops and delivers education to internal and external customers. Performs daily administrative oversight of the program. Monitors quality data collection, analysis and reporting process and identifies areas for improvement. Provides communication between team members and patients. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Metro Health System.

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Valid Ohio RN licensure.
• American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Certified Bariatric Nurse (ASMBS CBN) or obtains within 12 months of hire.
• Two years recent clinical experience with bariatric population in a medical/surgical setting or ambulatory surgery setting.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to handle information with strict confidentiality.
• Ability to initiate projects and carry out day-to-day operations with a minimum amount of supervision.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, delegation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrates strong analytical, data‑management, and computer skills.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.

Preferred:

• Master's Degree.
• Prior Bariatric Surgery Coordinator experience.
• Knowledge of EPIC functionality.

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. Sees in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hears in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to lift 250‑300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

Requires some exposure to chemicals.
