About This Role
The RN in the Innovation Unit at Cleveland Clinic provides direct nursing care while participating in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs. This role is ideal for new graduates or RNs transitioning to acute care settings.

Full-time, Day shift
- Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
- Provide direct nursing care alongside a coach, following established policies and protocols.
- Establish and revise priorities for patient care activities based on acuity, patient preference, and resource availability.
- Initiate and maintain interventions to ensure continuity of safe and effective care.
- Respond to data indicating health risks and take action to mitigate them.
- Seek supervision and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
- Comply with established hospital and department personnel policies.
- Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
- Document in the patient’s medical record according to established guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- BSN preferred.
- New grad or less than one year of RN work experience, or if experienced, less than one year in an acute direct care clinical inpatient setting.
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.
- ACLS certification required if in a Critical Care area, to be obtained within the first year of employment.
- PALS certification required within one year of hire for RNs in Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation, with specific exceptions for other units.
- ONS Chemo/Bio course to be completed within two years of hire if employed on units where chemotherapy is administered.
- ACLS and PALS certifications required for RNs in the Emergency Department upon hire or within one year.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within 24 months for RNs in Dedicated Trauma Centers.
