New Grad RN Resident - High-Acuity Cardiac Stepdown

The New Grad RN Resident position at Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute is designed for recent nursing graduates seeking to develop advanced cardiac nursing skills in a supportive environment. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with various cardiovascular conditions in high-acuity Cardiac Stepdown units.

  Full-time, Rotating shifts (7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am)

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care based on acuity, patient preference, and resource availability.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate corrective actions.
• Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) required
• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• New grad or less than one year RN work experience required
• If experienced RN, must have less than one year current acute direct patient care RN experience

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred within the first year of hire if in critical care area
