Summary:
Supports the mother-baby breastfeeding dyad through education, staff development, consultation, counseling, research, and community involvement in a variety of clinical settings. Provides direct patient care to infants through adult patient populations. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Metro Health System.
Qualifications:
- Required:
Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of professional nursing. - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the State of Ohio.
- Currently an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
- 3 years of hospital or community-based experience working with breastfeeding mothers and infants.
- Demonstrated evidence of continuing education and professional development.
- Physical Requirements:
- May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
- May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
- See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
- Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.
- Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
- Requires some exposure to chemicals.
