Registered Nurse – PICU

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse

Provide specialized care to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) during night shifts, ensuring patients’ stability and recovery. Collaborate with medical teams to deliver high-quality, complex care for children up to 25 years with critical conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor pediatric patients' vital signs, neurological status, and response to treatment.
• Administer medications, including inotropes, and perform EKGs as required.
• Recognize arrhythmias and respond appropriately to ECG rhythm changes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and hospital policy requirements.
• Document all patient interactions accurately and timely using facility systems.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Ohio or compact state registered nurse license in hand at submission.
• Have a minimum of 18 months of recent pediatric ICU/permanent experience, including epilepsy monitoring and specialized pediatric care.
• Possess active BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications, and recent EKG competency.
• Demonstrate proficiency in inotropes administration and rhythm recognition.
• Complete ECG rhythm recognition test and Safe Medicate assessments with acceptable scores during orientation.
• Have at least one recent managerial reference from the past 12 months.
