Join our Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East)! The primary patient population includes inpatient oncology with 16 dedicated patient beds, cross-trained for bone marrow transplant (BMT), and medical/surgical overflow.
Primary skills utilized/learned include IV medication therapy, blood product transfusion, pain management, hospice and palliative care, ability to obtain chemotherapy certification, time management, critical thinking, and delegating.
The personnel an RN will work with includes LPNs, patient care nursing assistants (PCNAs), nurse interns, and providers. The unit has 30 beds and has received the Nurses' Week Interprofessional Collaboration Award winners!!!!

Required qualifications include a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation), current registered nurse licensure in the State of Ohio, current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire, 1 year of relevant RN experience for PRN, and all required certifications upon hire for PRN.
Preferred qualifications include experience caring for patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapies, blood products, and other specialty infusions, including hematology, blood and marrow transplant (BMT), or cellular therapy patients, BSN, and professional certification recognized by the Magnet Association.
