The New Grad RN Resident position at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus is ideal for recent nursing graduates seeking to gain experience in a fast-paced cardiovascular recovery unit. This role involves providing direct nursing care and participating in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care based on acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability.
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce, or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.

• Education:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program) required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience:
  • New grad or less than one year RN work experience, or if experienced RN, moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year current acute direct patient care RN experience.

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be presented upon hire or within the first year of employment if in a Critical Care area.
