Landscape Technician

Position Summary

The Landscape Technician will carry out general landscape maintenance duties for all cemeteries as provided by the Landscape Manager. This position is responsible for the implementation of all directions provided by the Landscape Manager including completing operations on time and meeting all safety guidelines and requirements. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, snow removal and other general cemetery care and landscaping matters within the field.

$15.00 - $21.00 per hour; based on direct relevant experience.

Ability to travel to different CCA cemeteries throughout Northeast Ohio daily.

• Implement plans as provided by supervisor.
• Ensure all work is completed in adherence to safety policies and guidelines.
• Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets in the field, vehicles, shop, and worksites.
• Trim and prune trees and shrubbery as required by supervisor.
• Plants trees, shrubs, or flowers, according to instructions and planned design of landscaped area.
• May operate a variety of equipment, including but not limited to, mowers, string trimmers, Cushman, backhoe, dump truck, tractor, bed edger, hedge trimmer, chain saw.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
• Apply herbicide and fertilizer to designated areas, using sprayers and spreaders.
• Prepare and maintain gravesite as directed by supervisor.
• May be used in field as needed.
• Maintain OSHA PPE certificate.
• Ability to hand pull weeds around bushes, trees, and flower beds.
• Maintains awareness of landscaping best practices and plant knowledge.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Associate’s degree in landscaping design/horticulture preferred
• 1-3 years of direct relevant experience
• 10-hour OSHA Certified, General Industry
• Current, Valid driver’s license
• Willing to obtain current, valid Ohio Commercial Spray License
• Current, Valid Ohio Commercial Spray License preferred
• Clean driving record and DISC Insurable

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and or squatting
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions on a regular basis
• Ability to lift 75 lbs. on a regular basis

• On-site, in person with the ability to report to different cemeteries within the Association daily
• Exposure to outside weather conditions on a daily basis
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; high; precarious places and vibration
