Engineer Director plans, directs, and coordinates production activities within an engineering project. They need to possess a unique set of skills that combine technical expertise with people management skills.
Essential Functions- Research and develop designs and products.
- Determine the need for training and talent development.
- Hire contractors and build teams.
- Ensure products have the support of upper management.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams.
- Lead research and development projects that produce modern designs, products, and processes.
- Check the team’s work for accuracy.
- Coordinate work with other managers and staff.
- Print and specification reading and interpretation and creation using AutoCAD Inventor.
- Strong Mechanical aptitude;
Process Improvement mindset, Analyzing Information. - Verbal Communication;
Informing Others, Continual Improvement, Mindfulness, and Thoroughness. Dealing with Complexity;
Statistics, Lean workplace, General knowledge of manufacturing and, Machining practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering Technology preferred. Relevant job experience in lieu of Engineering Degree acceptable.
