Quality Control Technician II – St Clair, Cleveland, OH
Reporting to the Quality Engineer, this role supports the St Clair Dispersions facility and provides a direct interface between the Quality Control Lab and Operations team. The position monitors, tests, and discharges finished products to meet Arclin’s quality and performance standards and performs laboratory analyses, product development, customer applications projects, and testing of new or modified company products while adhering to Arclin policies and applicable HSE rules.
Responsibilities- Perform work in compliance with all Arclin policies and procedures including HSE and regulatory requirements.
- Attend and complete annual training as prescribed by EHS.
- Complete Line Startup procedure for all production lines.
- Provide 1st Piece Verification upon startup for all production lines.
- Provide certified batch auditing for cure blends and other products as directed.
- Assist with product inspections and audits.
- Monitor, disposition, and sort finished product to ensure it meets Arclin’s quality and performance standards.
- Apply creative thinking to new situations/opportunities while balancing creativity with practicality to achieve efficiencies.
- Demonstrate initiative and contribute ideas for process and quality improvements to save time or resources.
- Collaborate on project teams and share knowledge with peers and other team members to assist in productive work flow.
- Conduct application testing of raw materials, finished products, and some New Product Development according to industry standards and utilizing proper statistical tools and established Arclin test procedures.
- Maintain and operate lab equipment according to Arclin lab policies and procedures; investigate equipment and arrange for service and repairs as required; maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the lab, including disposing of waste and safe handling of flammable and toxic chemicals in compliance with all HSE regulations.
- Assist with investigations of Customer Quality Complaints and Root Cause Analysis.
- Perform other various tasks as assigned by the Quality Engineer.
- Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or related field; OR significant related on‑the‑job experience.
- 0–3 years’ experience working in manufacturing or an industrial laboratory environment.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and prepare reports with emphasis on technical clarity and accuracy.
- Rubber Industry experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Adobe, Power‑BI).
- Potential to acquire forklift certification.
