Position: 1st Shift Quality Technician 23hr+

Quality Technician

The Quality Technician performs a wide range of inspections and tests to ensure that raw materials and finished products meet established quality standards. This role focuses on first-piece, in-process, and final inspections, daily audits, and the evaluation of nonconforming materials using a variety of precision measurement tools.

Responsibilities
  • Perform first-piece inspections and testing for in-process and final products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Conduct daily part audits to monitor product quality and identify trends or recurring issues.
  • Inspect and evaluate nonconforming materials and products, documenting findings and supporting corrective actions.
  • Perform receiving inspections and testing of raw materials to ensure they meet required quality standards before release to production.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of all products in production status to maintain consistent quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, ring gauges, gauges, tape measures, and height gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Carry out visual inspections to identify defects, damage, or irregularities in materials and finished products.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and specifications to determine inspection criteria and measurement requirements.
  • Document inspection results accurately and communicate issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Support quality control and quality assurance activities by following established procedures and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2+ years of quality inspection experience, including in-process, first-piece, and final piece inspection.
  • Hands-on experience using inspection tools related to metal products, including gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Strong skills in quality control and quality assurance practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with in-process inspection methods to monitor product quality during production.
  • Ability to perform detailed visual inspections to identify defects and nonconformities.
  • Experience conducting quality checks and documenting nonconforming materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Competence using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, ring gauges, gauges, tape measures, and height gauges.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when performing quality inspections and recording results.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a Quality Inspector or in a similar quality-focused role in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection processes for metal components and products.
  • Comfort working with unique or specialized machinery and learning new equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to report findings and collaborate with production and quality teams.

Work

Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-lit, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility designed to support comfort and focus throughout the shift. The operation uses unique machinery and custom-manufactured tooling, and employees receive training to work effectively with this specialized equipment. Standard hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, providing a consistent daytime schedule. Additional work may be available after the regular shift during the week, and occasional Saturday work may be offered on an optional basis for those interested in extra hours.
