Description: The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure products and processes consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. This role oversees quality assurance, quality control, and compliance with standards such as ISO 9001 and customer-required material declarations. The Quality Manager collaborates cross-functionally with operations, engineering, supply chain, and customers to maintain product quality, resolve issues, and drive continuous process improvement.
Reports to Director of Operations
Responsibilities:Quality Management System (QMS)
- Maintain and improve the company Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable requirements.
- Manage document control, procedures, and quality records.
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external certification audits.
- Establish and monitor product quality standards, inspection procedures, and incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Analyze quality metrics and trends to drive improvement initiatives.
- Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Serve as the primary contact for customer quality issues, complaints, returns and corrective actions.
- Lead root cause investigations using structured methods (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
- Support customer audits, PPAPs, FAIs, and quality reviews.
- Manage supplier qualifications, evaluation, and performance using scorecards and KPIs.
- Lead supplier corrective actions and coordinate supplier audits when required.
- Drive initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and process variation using Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, PFMEA, and other quality tools.
- Lead and develop the quality team, including engineers, technicians, and inspectors.
- Provide training on quality standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field, or 5-10 years of manufacturing quality experience.
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Statistical quality tools and SPC.
- Quality audits and compliance systems.
- Strong communication and cross-functional leadership.

Certifications:
ASQ CMQ/OE or CQE, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor - Experience with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like Customer PPM, Internal scrap/defect rate, Supplier quality performance, Corrective action effectiveness, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
