Job DescriptionA small manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Technician who will support the efficient operation of the Inspection Department and the overall Quality Program, including Receiving, In-Process, and Final Inspections of company products and those of our suppliers. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Responsibilities- Perform receiving, in-process, final, and FAI inspections using basic inspection hand tools, along with plate layout inspections and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
- Read and understand blueprints, assist in calibrations per schedule, write preliminary Discrepancy Reports, assist in conducting internal Quality Audits, and update quality documentation as needed
- Review Work Orders for sign offs and inspection operations
- Assist in packaging items securely to prevent damage during transit and assist in loading and unloading trucks using a tow motor
- Use computer to access EVOSoftware to print packing lists, and use UPS, Fed Ex, and DHL software for shipments and complete packing slips and all shipping materials
- Support and troubleshoot in both production and fabrication departments to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts to clients and support purchasing in identifying and resolving issues as needed
- Provide support to the QA department and serve as a backup for the Quality Assurance Manager when requested by management
- Complete special projects as requested
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have the ability to use basic inspection hand tools, plate layout inspections, and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
- Must be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of the ISO system and be able to lead and support surveillance audits
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, write preliminary reports, assist in conduction quality audits, and update documents as needed
- Must be skilled operating a tow motor and maintain tow motor license
- Must have basic computer skills with knowledge of using UPS, Fed Ex, and DHL software and printing packing lists
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to support purchasing in identifying and resolving issues as needed
- Must have excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Must be able to develop and maintain a good working relationship with all employees
Only those candidates that can pass a background check and drug screen will be considered. Must be able to pass a standard blueprint test.
