Medical Lab Scientist Group Lead Job Description
- Perform, review, and document quality control; make assay and test disposition decisions.
- Evaluate validity check requests and recommend appropriate actions based on specimen and testing limitations.
- Serve as a technical resource by troubleshooting testing issues and responding to complex inquiries.
- Support the Lab Supervisor with workflow oversight, staff training, work assignments, and performance input.
- Improve operational efficiency by identifying workflow enhancements and resolving production issues.
- Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, clean, and functional condition.
- Complete required training and competency assessments; assist with annual competency documentation.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards.
- Proficiency in laboratory, medical, and chemistry procedures.
- ASCP Certification (MLS, MT, Chemistry) required.
- 3-5 years of experience within Automated Chemistry.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
You will work in a clinical lab environment that is very busy with increasing volume. The work schedule is Monday to Friday with rotating weekends. The shifts are from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on rotating weekends. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $79,000.00 - $89,000.00/yr.
