The R&D Laboratory Leader supports laboratory operations and research activities while providing coordination of daily laboratory tasks. This role combines hands‑on laboratory work with leadership responsibilities to ensure experiments are completed efficiently, safely, and accurately.
Key Responsibilities Laboratory Execution- Perform routine laboratory experiments, testing, and analyses.
- Prepare samples, materials, and equipment for testing and research activities.
- Accurately record, analyze, and report experimental data.
- Assist in organizing daily laboratory activities and priorities.
- Serve as a resource for basic laboratory‑related questions.
- Support a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Assist in the execution of assigned R&D projects.
- Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to management.
- Help ensure project milestones and timelines are achieved.
- Clean, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and coordinate equipment servicing as needed.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance requirements.
- Assist with the installation, qualification, and implementation of new laboratory equipment.
- Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain organized laboratory work spaces and ensure operational readiness.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish laboratory supplies and materials.
- Follow all laboratory safety policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Promote safe work practices and compliance within the laboratory.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
- Work closely with scientists, engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional teams.
- Communicate observations, results, and updates clearly and effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical discipline required.
- 0–5 years of laboratory, research, or R&D experience.
- Hands‑on experience maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment preferred.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting the installation, validation, or implementation of new laboratory equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience developing, revising, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) preferred.
- Strong laboratory and technical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and task coordination capabilities.
