ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Customer Satisfaction: Provides prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner; greets customers upon entry and thanks them upon exit; offers suggestions or recommendations; rings up all sales accurately on the cash register, handling various types of payment; operates multi‑function fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions, and other equipment.
  • Facility Condition: Maintains store condition and equipment to company/brand standards by cleaning and performing general housekeeping duties inside and out; inspects facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order; notifies the Store Manager of any equipment failure or maintenance/supply needs.
  • Merchandising: Completes build‑to’s for ordering and purchasing merchandise; receives and verifies vendor deliveries; maintains adequate stock throughout the store and counter areas, rotating stock properly; places advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility, including marquees, ceilings, walls, and windows.
  • Sales Controls: Controls merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses; assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
  • Financial Controls: Keeps accurate cash, sales, and inventory control records; accounts for variances; notifies the Store Manager of any sales, cash, or inventory discrepancies; follows brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
  • Security Controls: Reports all incidents including employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation or waste disposal; reports any situation in which unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct is occurring.
  • Administrative: Keeps an accurate record of all shift and time‑keeping paperwork; may take inventory of supplies and equipment; attends job‑related meetings (may require irregular hours); maintains regular and predictable onsite attendance; performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in retail sales preferred.
  • Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment, including cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers, and other tools.
  • Ability to work as scheduled, including arriving on time.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly so others will understand.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below.
  • Ability to work in the conditions described below.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Exposed to cold or warm temperature extremes, performing occasional work in a walk‑in cooler and/or freezer and outdoors.
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., stocking or maintaining inventory levels).
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups).
  • Grip, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift; push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand truck).
  • Reach overhead for objects; bend and twist at waist; communicate orally.
  • Operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
  • Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull as needed.
  • Work alone; be exposed to occasional noise; stand and walk for entire shift; may require climbing a ladder to store, retrieve materials, or remove signs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Perform approximately 95% of work indoors; required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, and take out garbage.
  • Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while working in a walk‑in cooler and/or freezer; occasional noise exposure.
  • Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
  • Work in a fast‑paced retail environment requiring interaction with customers, vendors, and managers.
