SummaryThe Manager in Training is responsible for assisting the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties. They possess knowledge of each product area or department, help develop methods to achieve store goals, uphold policies and standards, promote sales and promotions, and serve as an ambassador for Hibbett I City Gear. They are passionate about outstanding customer service, promoting merchandise, and learning the full scope of the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear
- Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
- Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments when necessary.
- Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
- Direct staff to meet departmental responsibilities and standards.
- Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
- Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
- Perform general administrative duties and manage the Store Manager’s responsibilities as needed.
- Provide extraordinary customer service as highlighted in the customer service manual, assisting customers during peak periods.
- Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
- Practice and uphold all policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, as well as company memos.
- Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal control procedures and alerting management to potential fraud risks.
Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager. Perform supervisory duties in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, training, work assignment, and issue resolution.
Qualifications- Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1-3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to assist in managing a team and maintain overall goals and profits.
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without prompting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
- Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandise sales.
