Position Overview
Heavy Equipment Sales Representative – Northeast Ohio Region
Join our Construction Equipment Group to support the Northeast Ohio Region and drive sales for the DEVELON product line and other large brand construction lines.

- Work schedule:
M-F, day shift
- Responsible for construction sales for our DEVELON product line and other large brand construction lines
- Account/territory management, financial merchandising, and prospect for new business
- Meet quota objectives provided by management
- Use effective time and territory management skills
- Personal visits to customer applications to identify opportunities
- Use direct mail, phone, and electronic media to communicate with prospects and customers
- Develop and present proposals to solve customers’ needs while working with our inside sales team
- Effectively present at customers’ location in front of a group and show product benefits
- Actively participate in the use and expansion of our CRM program
- Execute planned sales calls
- Participate in sales training and use tools to educate on products and services offered by the company
- Review open proposals with sales management and request management participation in customer sales calls when necessary
- Turn in complete orders to sales administration and review orders for accuracy
- Demonstrate products at customer locations
- Coordinate with all departments to develop sales strategies that exceed customer expectations
- Offer customized financing packages to meet each customer’s requirements
- Incorporate company guiding principles into daily activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Consistent, reliable attendance and readiness to work at the designated start time
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of heavy construction equipment sales experience (highly preferred)
- 5 years of business-to-business sales experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fast paced, high energy individual with an aggressive sales style
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and automobile insurance
- Computer programs – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Intermediate language skills: ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Intermediate mathematical skills: ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry
- High reasoning ability: solve practical problems and handle variable situations; interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Regular use of hands, speaking, hearing; frequent sitting and occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- No special vision requirements
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally 26-50 pounds
- Occasional work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions
