Shoreby Club is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Sales & Event Manager to lead the sales, planning, and execution of private events while creating exceptional experiences for members, guests, and prospective clients. This position is responsible for generating banquet and event revenue, coordinating all event details from inquiry through execution, and serving as the primary liaison between clients and the Club's operations team.

Sales & Business Development
  • Generate new business opportunities for weddings, corporate meetings, social events, celebrations, and other private functions.
  • Respond promptly to event inquiries and conduct site tours for prospective clients.
  • Develop proposals, contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), and pricing packages.
  • Maintain relationships with current and prospective clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Track sales activity, event pipeline, and revenue goals.
Event Planning & Coordination
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients from initial inquiry through event completion.
  • Conduct planning meetings and communicate event expectations clearly to all departments.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed BEOs and event timelines.
  • Ensure flawless execution of events through active on-site management and client engagement.
Member Experience
  • Assist members and guests with planning private celebrations and club events.
  • Build strong relationships with members and guests by anticipating needs and exceeding expectations.
  • Promote club amenities and services to enhance member engagement and event participation.
Operations & Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef, Food & Beverage Manager, Banquet Team, and Club Leadership to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Participate in weekly event meetings and operational planning sessions.
  • Monitor event profitability and labor efficiency.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate event records, contracts, deposits, and billing information.
  • Manage event calendars and scheduling.
  • Prepare reports on sales performance, event trends, and revenue generation.
  • Ensure compliance with club policies and service standards.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Honest, respectful, empathetic, dedicated, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing a high volume of custom meetings and elaborate events, with upwards of $2 million in function revenue and 250+ event attendees.
  • Demonstrated results in developing new and enticing events to continuously enhance the member experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously with close attention to detail.
  • Must be able to handle a fast-paced, high-end, busy, and sophisticated environment.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and flexible with a “no task is too small” attitude.
  • Enthusiasm and patience are essential, with the ability to effectively deal with stress and conflict.
  • Strong communication skills are crucial in planning flawless and memorable events.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Consistency in following up and following through with members and teammates is required.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated and must always want to make every member’s experience special.
  • The desire to learn and improve daily.
  • Passionate drive to be creative and informed with the latest industry trends.
  • Proficient in event management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and layout design tools. Experience with Jonas POS software is a plus.
Hours/Schedule

Our Event Team supports club operations throughout the week, with schedules that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on events and business needs. Weekly schedules are subject to change, and availability in the evenings, on weekends, and on holidays is expected of all team members.
