Job Overview
This role serves as the primary Rental Sales/Marketing function at the BU level, supporting commercial rental and trailer services product lines. The purpose is to increase Ryder’s rental sales presence and generate profitable new accounts while retaining existing ones. The position focuses on rental revenue growth, profitability, and Return on Assets.
Held in the Cleveland, OH area (territory includes Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown).
Work schedule:
Monday – Friday, First Shift. The position is full‑time and offers a salaried compensation of $55,000, uncapped commission, and a complete benefits package.
- Generate leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and customer visits; assess customer needs and develop proposals; coordinate with rental operations to ensure equipment availability; market at the branch level; train rental sales representatives in effective telemarketing techniques.
- Maintain customer relationships by performing visits and phone calls; handle complaints; provide quality service; schedule retention visits for long‑term rentals; manage customer relationships in a competitive market.
- Develop proposals and contracts; maintain customer files; coordinate with BU departments; keep system data accurate in the FIS/DPS system.
- Manage collections and receivables; approve credit; update scheduling; follow up on past‑due accounts; comply with company procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or 5 years of equivalent job‑related experience.
- Minimum one year of sales experience or equivalent sales training.
- Three or more years of sales experience preferred.
- One year of industry experience preferred.
Salary: $55,000 (salaried) plus commission. Eligibility for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan based on level and type. Microsoft Verification.
