Overview

The Opportunity:

This position supports the sales and client service teams through oversight and execution of the marketing process for prospective and current clients. The Client Market Analyst analyzes market trends, prepares and presents proposals, and manages the overall marketing process for clients.

Responsibilities
  • Build comprehensive proposals in collaboration with service and sales team members, including client prospecting and renewal efforts, evaluating client needs and developing solutions and strategies.
  • Evaluate account needs and select appropriate markets; consult service and sales teams to provide up-to-date market intelligence on products, services, programs, and carrier appetites to guide the marketing strategy for assigned accounts.
  • Provide creative solutions for coverage placement and negotiate terms and prices on behalf of clients and favorable commissions for the agency.
  • Evaluate risks and determine appropriate coverage and pricing terms to meet client needs; address risks with relevant markets to gauge interest.
  • Create specifications in appropriate systems and manage order submissions within service level time frames; control and oversee the submission process and review drafts until all corrections are addressed.
  • Ensure that current term policy changes during the renewal cycle are captured in submissions; submit submissions to selected markets with timely follow-up for quotes.
  • Answer questions and obtain additional information required by underwriters to generate quotes; obtain revised and final quotes and compare/evaluate quotes with the account team to select those suitable for client presentation.
  • Order proposals within service levels, provide all information necessary for completion, and review and order final corrections and revisions to templates; approve final versions and provide instructions for assembling proposals with additional inserts, exhibits, brochures, or reports as needed.
  • Document all marketing activities in accordance with established procedures to support clear status communication for key stakeholders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the insurance marketplace and act as an internal market resource and liaison; meet with carriers to learn of new products, appetites, and service enhancements; build strong relationships with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Manage order flow: order binders from winning markets and alert losing markets of outcomes in a manner that maintains positive market relationships; alert internal service teams about orders to bind; update systems to document and finalize the marketing cycle.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in risk management and insurance, benefits, human resources or related field preferred.
  • Two to three years of insurance industry experience.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, retirement).
  • Familiarity with regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA and ACA.
  • Proven analytical, problem identification and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and identify opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to negotiate effectively with insurance carriers and vendors.
  • Proficient in MS Office software and systems for reporting, analysis and presentations.
  • Licenses; ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with client service and sales support in a marketing/insurance context is a plus.
