Engagement Manager
The Engagement Manager is a key client-facing role responsible for cultivating strong, trust-based relationships and driving revenue growth through a consultative inside-sales approach. This role blends strategic account management with day-to-day sales execution, utilizing established methodologies such as the Sandler Selling System to support client satisfaction, retention, and account expansion. The Engagement Manager develops a clear understanding of client goals and maintains a working knowledge of FIT's products and services to proactively recommend solutions that deliver long-term value.
This role is accountable for completing the activities outlined in their sales cookbook and consistently progressing toward defined KPIs and role-specific performance outcomes.
Client Engagement + Sales Execution
- Serve as the primary liaison for strategic client communications, conflict resolution, pricing negotiations, and expectation management.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, applying consultative selling techniques to identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities aligned with client needs and FIT's offerings.
- Partner with internal teams to develop proposals, pricing strategies, and renewal plans.
- Drive client retention and expansion through proactive account planning, growth opportunity identification, and churn-risk mitigation.
- Organize and lead client IT roadmap discussions; ensure service agreements and CRM records accurately reflect current client needs and opportunities.
- Educate clients on IT best practices, service utilization, and ongoing improvement recommendations.
- Plan and facilitate client meetings, product demonstrations, and presentations.
- Establish and maintain appropriate meeting cadence for IT Strategy and Business Reviews (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).
Sales Enablement + Operational Execution
- Apply the Sandler Selling System or similar methodology to ensure consistent use of consultative sales best practices.
- Maintain strong CRM hygiene to ensure accurate tracking of sales activities, client interactions, and partnership information.
- Build new and renewal contracts using the company's contract management tool and track business opportunities in the CRM.
- Provide internal reporting and performance metrics to the Client Engagement Team and leadership as requested.
- Review monthly client invoices proactively and manage contract renewals in alignment with company policy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with service delivery, technical, and project teams to ensure client goals are fully understood, communicated, and met.
- Participate in early-stage project discovery and proposal reviews to ensure alignment with best practices and client expectations.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with the Sandler Selling System or equivalent sales methodology.
- Experience with CRM tools and contract management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts and initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and high attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and evolving environment.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and expectation setting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all FIT and client/prospect information accessed or processed through systems and business relationships.
- 3-5 years of experience in a client-facing B2B sales or sales support role (inside or outside sales), ideally within IT services or SaaS.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets through consultative selling
- Experience in IT or within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
Physical Requirements
This position primarily operates in a professional office environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting, extensive computer use, and regular operation of standard office equipment, including a computer, keyboard, mouse, and related technology. The role requires local travel to client meetings, conferences, and other business-related events, with occasional long-distance travel as business needs dictate. A valid driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and current personal auto insurance policy are required.
The position may require occasional evening or weekend work to support meetings, events, or project deadlines. The ability to lift and carry IT hardware and equipment as needed is also required.
