Position Summary
The Hydraulic Territory Manager is responsible for maintaining and increasing sales volume and margin with existing and new accounts within the industrial and distribution channels. The role focuses on executing assigned sales goals and plans within a designated territory, securing and maintaining distribution of hydraulic products (actuators, pumps, valves, hydraulic systems), and supporting the Corporation's Win Strategy.
Scope and SupervisionDoes Not Have Direct Reports.
Proactively works with all division management and support departments to ensure customer service needs are met or exceeded. Represents the company at trade shows and other professional activities. Reports to Regional Sales Manager.
Essential Functions- Develops and maintains strong client relationships with OEM customers and distributor accounts, prioritizing opportunities to achieve optimum sales and margin results.
- Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products, applications, features, benefits, and stays current with training and development.
- Obtains specifications and approvals at engineering firms, major accounts, and distributors to create increased sales opportunities and margins.
- Monitors competitive products and marketplace activity, reporting regularly to management and participating in strategy development.
- Assists department planning to provide products and services to assigned accounts and supports cross‑division referrals for group products.
- Provides product training at distributor and customer levels, motivates distributors, and helps convert competitive accounts to Parker.
- College degree, preferably in a technical discipline, with a minimum of 5 years in direct or distributor sales of industrial technical products.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient PC skills.
- Willingness to travel overnight 50%–70% of the time, or as required.
- Product and system certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and sustain sales growth in a territory.
- Ability to cross‑sell across groups.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and experience.
