Job OverviewThe Clinical Research Assistant will support ongoing research projects and help deliver community outreach efforts and initiatives in Ohio to support the delivery of the full continuum of cancer screening, with a focus on lung and colorectal cancer prevention and screening. The position requires traveling within Ohio and flexibility to work evenings and weekends. It involves developing engagement tools for cancer screening at the Wexner Medical Center and in the community, collecting and tracking screening participation data, and acting as a representative of the research program to promote screening for colorectal and lung cancers.
Key Responsibilities- Support ongoing research projects related to cancer screening and prevention.
- Develop community outreach and education initiatives focused on lung and colorectal cancer.
- Travel within Ohio and attend events during evenings and weekends as needed.
- Develop engagement tools for cancer screening at the Wexner Medical Center and in the community.
- Collect and track data weekly for screening participation, including patients screened for colorectal and lung cancers in clinical practice, in the community, and across participating study sites.
- Act as the representative of the research program on promoting screening for colorectal and lung cancers and other cancer‑related conditions.
- Connect research program activities to partners and implement evidence‑based cancer screening and prevention initiatives in Central Ohio and other locations as directed.
- Review and validate required information in the electronic medical record and follow SOPs.
- Maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders at the Wexner Medical Center, the community, and participating research sites.
- Use effective communication skills, including listening well and using language appropriately.
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, or a related field with an emphasis in Community Health, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in data collection, participant outreach and recruitment—particularly in rural areas.
- Experience in program evaluation and community outreach.
- Experience in program implementation is desirable.
- Ability to initiate and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Effective communication skills, including listening well and using appropriate language.

- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical exam may be required during the post‑offer process.
