Assistant Project Manager, Geologist
Location:
Independence, OH
At Haley & Aldrich, you will support multidisciplinary project teams in the field, analyze environmental data, prepare technical deliverables, and assist in project management tasks. This full‑time role blends geology expertise with project coordination to ensure projects meet client objectives, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities- Coordinate and direct field assignments, data analysis, and technical reporting.
- Align technical tasks with overall project objectives to deliver high‑quality assignments.
- Apply knowledge of state and federal regulations and industry practice to assigned tasks.
- Collaborate with project teams, field crews, and safety personnel to meet technical, budget, schedule, and safety goals.
- Support the project management team with cost estimating, scheduling, subcontracting, resource allocation, planning, task delegation, and financial management.
- Prepare and review written communications and technical deliverables.
- Maintain internal and external communication with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coach and mentor junior staff on field activities, technical reports, and knowledge transfer.
- Plan site characterization programs and coordinate field investigations.
- Lead teams in interpreting, evaluating, and summarizing subsurface data to assess project impacts.
- Plan all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate foundational safety behaviors and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
- Six or more years of related experience.
- Proficiency in conducting and leading environmental investigations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and ability to learn additional software as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with outputs from industry‑specific geologic modeling software.
- Master’s degree in Geology or related field.
- Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
- Some project management or task management experience.
- Expertise with industry‑specific geologic modeling software.
- OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.
Salary range: $80,000 – $93,000 annually (subject to factors such as education, experience, skills, and market conditions).
