Security Officer, Loss Prevention
Overview
As a Market Format Asset Protection professional, you help enhance the safety and security of customers and team members at a single unit. You deter inappropriate behavior, identify safety, shrink, and security concerns through observation, assessments, audits, and inspections. You may assist with investigations, interviews, and apprehensions. You practice 200% safety accountability (self and others).
What You'll be Doing- Maintain a professional, physical presence in assigned areas to deter inappropriate behavior.
- Check packages as necessary.
- Alert Certified Asset Protection Team Members to suspicious persons or situations and assist in apprehension as required.
- Perform front-end lot checks to identify and resolve safety or security concerns.
- Conduct assessments and audits to identify shrink, safety, security, and fire prevention concerns.
- Respond to emergency situations; CPR/AED trained and certified.
- Maintain entry/exit security and conduct regular perimeter inspections for door security.
- Maintain a safe work area and report safety concerns to leadership for resolution.
- Triages customer complaints/concerns and contact the appropriate person for resolution.
- Assist in investigations and interviews as necessary.
- Utilize computer applications to monitor and respond to alarm and exception activity.
- Document Asset Protection activity in the case management system.
- May be required to testify in court if necessary.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Prior asset protection experience preferred
- Ability to learn and use self-defense techniques
- Basic understanding of behavioral safety strategies
- Ability to learn and understand fire and security systems (CCTV, Burglar Alarms, Fire Systems, Alarms, and EAS Systems)
- Experience with office technology tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic understanding of the criminal and civil justice systems
- Basic understanding of Organized Retail Crime (ORC)
- Basic understanding of product protection strategies
- CPR/AED trained and certified
- Maintain a professional appearance including cleanliness of uniforms
- Commit to reliable and consistent attendance
- Pay range: $15.55 - $21.90 per hour. This represents the minimum to maximum base pay for the position and is influenced by market data, qualifications, responsibilities, and internal levels.
