Field Service Technician – Industrial Machinery; Position

At Stürtz Machinery we design and build world-class automated machinery for the vinyl window manufacturing industry. We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to perform site assembly and commissioning of new machine installations, as well as field troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment.

This position requires extensive travel (>75%) throughout North America. Due to the hands‑on training and collaboration required at our U.S. facility, candidates must reside in the Greater Cleveland area.

• On-site installation and commissioning of new machines
• Provide start‑up assistance at customer factory locations including uncrating, alignment, and assembly
• Train operator and maintenance personnel at customer sites
• Accurately complete Installation/Service documentation
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair existing machinery
• Provide spare parts recommendations
• Recommend continuous improvement initiatives within the Stürtz organization
• Provide customer support via remote diagnostics and phone

• 2–5 years’ experience building, installing, and repairing industrial machinery
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills
• Knowledge of PLCs, electronics, and wiring schematics
• Basic computer skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Detail‑oriented, dependable, and self‑motivated
• Ability to travel extensively throughout North America (occasional international travel)
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Valid driver’s license and passport
• 2‑year technical degree or trade certification preferred
