Salary: $19.07–$26.27 per hour, as established by ordinance.

Written examination (computerized or pencil-and-paper) will test the objectives of the duties and minimum qualifications.

Under immediate supervision in the Pipe Repair Department, perform installation, maintenance, and repair of the water supply system. Typical tasks include:

• Installing water lines, valves, hydrants, and connections.
• Repairing hydrants, valves, lines, mains, and appurtenances.
• Cleansing and replacing hydrants and connection boxes.
• Maintaining equipment and tools.
• Operating air compressors, air hammers, and pumps.
• Cutting and threading pipe.
• Excavating and back filling for repair work.
• Tapping mains.
• Packing and caulking joints.
• Driving trucks.
• Operating large valves.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License required.
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds in all types of weather.
