Forklift Operator
Job Overview
Reporting to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate entry of materials and goods received into inventory. This role acts as a point of contact for all inquiries related to shipments, orders, and inventory.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate records of items shipped and received.
- Oversee safe and reliable packaging of all outgoing shipments.
- Process items for shipment according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet schedules.
- Review all international shipment documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain timely, effective, and professional communications with all internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Perform effective record keeping, filing, and other administrative duties as required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures; report any accidents to manager or supervisor.
- Other duties assigned by the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor.
- Work on the warehouse floor near heavy machinery.
- Meet TKMNA Employee Attributes/Competencies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Interpersonal skills for communication with plant manager, sales staff, and plant personnel.
- Understanding of equipment and tolerances from past experience.
- Warehouse experience with forklift, packing, and measuring.
- Safety mindset.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of metals handled and proper staging, processing, packaging, and shipping.
- First aid and CPR training.
- Exposure to SAP, safety programs, ISO standards, and lean practices.
