Overview

The Hood Technician is responsible for cleaning grease from cooking exhaust systems in commercial kitchens and performing supervisory-related tasks for crews. This role may involve after-hours work, coordinating with restaurant management, and ensuring safety and maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Work after hours when facilities are closed, in and outside
  • Often work alone with a helper and interact professionally with restaurant management and staff; maintain honesty and trustworthiness
  • Inspections, cleanup, and some maintenance
  • Take photos of work
  • Travel to job sites and between locations
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Keep truck and equipment in working condition
  • Clean kitchen exhaust systems including fans
  • Operate safely with ladders, chemicals, and other safety practices
  • Meet scheduled appointment times
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education, Training, Certifications
  • HS Diploma or equivalent, required
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Leadership skills; ability to motivate and provide direction
  • Light mechanical ability; experience with hand/power tools
  • Demonstrate critical and safety-forward thinking
  • Collaborator able to work with all levels of employees
  • Strong diligence and accuracy
Communication Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with employees and customers
Other Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to comply with company drug, alcohol, and background screening requirements (may include customer-specific requirements)
Physical & Work Environment
