Full-Time Maintenance position located in Independence, OH, US.

Kurtz Bros., Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Independence, Ohio. If you enjoy working on a variety of equipment and take pride in keeping machines running safely and efficiently, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, semi-trucks, dump trucks, loaders, screeners, and other production equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, inspections, and routine service.
• Complete mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, brake, steering, suspension, and engine repairs.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed to repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend preventative repairs to minimize downtime.
• Travel occasionally to other Kurtz Bros. locations throughout the Cleveland area for equipment repairs.
• Follow all company safety policies and maintain accurate repair documentation.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience repairing heavy equipment, trucks, or similar machinery.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• CDL Class A or B is a plus.
• Ability to work overtime and flexible hours during the busy spring and summer season.
• Must provide your own mechanic tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to safe work practices.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions around heavy equipment.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
