Overview
Join the American Red Cross and contribute to the world’s largest humanitarian network. This role involves repairs and maintenance of facilities, machines, and equipment, and may include leadership guidance to volunteers. You will work under limited supervision in various maintenance trades and support safety and regulatory compliance.
What You Need to Know (Job Overview)This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
Under limited supervision, perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typical trades include carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conduct routine inspections to determine maintenance needs to prevent breakdowns. Use hand and power tools, blueprints, and specifications. May train or check the work of other facilities staff.
Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to volunteers. Perform duties in compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable regulations.

Pay InformationThe salary range for this position is Ohio: $23.08/hr - $24.62/hr. Salaries are aligned to geographic location and may be influenced by skills, experience, and comparison to others in the role.
Minimum QualificationsWhat you need to succeed
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required. A trade license may be required.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience includes painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
Skills & Abilities:
Basic writing and communication skills; basic computer skills may be required. Truck and/or bus driving experience is desirable. On-call duties may be required. Ability to work well in a team. A current valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Travel:
Will drive to other locations.

Regularly use hands to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Lift or move objects from 10 to 50 lbs frequently, and more than 100 lbs with assistance or equipment. Push carts up to 250 lbs on flat surfaces. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; sometimes sit or climb. Vision requirements include near, far, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus.
May climb ladders and work with chemicals and solvents.
Must be willing to learn; comfortable with technology; handyman experience; experience working with vendors and outside contractors; strong work ethic.
