Maint Plumber-Facilities Engineering Biweekly Nights

Shift: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am

Assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs pipes, fittings, water fixtures, drainage systems, oxygen, and other piped gas in accordance with specifications and plumbing codes. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Metro Health System.

Required:

• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• One of the following:
  • Possess a Plumbing License for the State of Ohio through the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB).
  • Possess a Journeyman's Plumbing License.
  • Documented 8 years of plumbing experience.
• 4 years of documented plumbing experience.
• Current certificate of completion of the Infection Control Risk Assessment – 8 Hour (ICRA‑8 hour) training program, or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Maintains that certificate as needed.
• Current ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel certification, or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Maintains that certification as needed.
• Working knowledge of Plumbing Codes.
• Current, valid Driver's License.
• Ability to read and utilize blueprints.
• Solid problem‑solving skills and use of sound judgment.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Basic personal computer skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, or as part of a team.
• Willing and able to adjust from the standard work schedule as needed for operational coverage, including days not normally worked, and at locations not normally assigned.

Preferred:

• Possess a Fire Sprinkler Installer License for the State of Ohio.
• Current ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Systems Installer certification (ASSE 6010) and maintains it as needed.
• Current Back Flow Certification from the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA).
• Prior Healthcare industry experience.

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• Ability to climb intermittently during the day; push/pull 70-150 pounds.
• Ability to lift 10-40 pounds.
• Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
• Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
