Chassis Mechanic

Con Global is seeking a Chassis Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair intermodal chassis supporting rail, ocean, and trucking customers. In this field-based role, you'll perform preventive maintenance, brake and suspension work, electrical and lighting repairs, and welding on container chassis to ensure safe, reliable operations. You'll use diagnostic tools, follow work orders and safety procedures, and document all repairs. Working in a fast-paced terminal environment, you'll collaborate with operations teams while supporting a safety-first, continuous improvement culture with opportunities for growth in maintenance and operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose intermodal chassis for structural, brake, suspension, and electrical issues
• Perform preventive maintenance services and respond to repair orders in a terminal environment
• Repair and replace brake components, suspension parts, lighting, wiring, and tires on chassis
• Perform basic to intermediate welding and fabrication on frames and components as needed
• Use diagnostic tools, gauges, and technical manuals to troubleshoot equipment problems
• Document inspections, repairs, and parts usage accurately in maintenance systems
• Follow all safety, OSHA, and company procedures while working in rail and terminal yards
• Collaborate with operations and yard teams to prioritize and complete repair work efficiently
• Support continuous improvement of maintenance processes and equipment reliability
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe operating condition
