Industrial Boiler & Commercial Service Technician Travel-Based Field Service Role | Southern U.S. Region McCain Engineering Join a Respected Industry Leader McCain Engineering is seeking an experienced Industrial Boiler & Commercial Service Technician to support industrial, institutional, and commercial customers throughout Ohio and the Northern United States. This is a high-level, hands-on field service role involving:
Boiler troubleshooting and repair

• Startup and commissioning
• Controls and electrical diagnostics
• Preventive maintenance
• Emergency service support
• Our technicians work on both:
  Large industrial steam and hot water systems
• Commercial and institutional boiler systems
• Projects may include manufacturing facilities, hospitals, universities, schools, commercial buildings, processing plants, and temporary/rental boiler installations. Position Overview This is primarily a travel-based field service position supporting customers across the Southern U.S. region.

  Overnight stays

• Emergency service calls
• Technicians are typically dispatched directly to job sites and operate independently in the field.

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial and commercial boiler systems
• Perform combustion analysis and burner tuning
• Diagnose electrical, controls, and automation issues
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and control drawings
• Perform startup and commissioning of boilers, burners, and related systems
• Support temporary/rental boiler projects
• Inspect and service safeties, valves, pumps, and limit circuits
• Interface directly with plant personnel, facility managers, contractors, and customers
• Complete service reports and communicate findings professionally

• Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following:
• Commercial boiler service
• Combustion systems
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting
• Burner controls
• Mechanical or industrial field service

• Limit and safety circuits
• Ability to work independently in field environments
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Southern U.S.
• Preferred Qualifications Journeyman Electrician certification

• Fireye, Siemens, Honeywell, or similar controls
• PLCs and VFDs
• Steam and hot water systems
• Commercial hydronic systems
• Startup and commissioning work

• Experienced technicians commonly earn $110k–$160k+ annually with overtime and travel work
