VGS is a highly acclaimed, successful, private, not‑for‑profit 501(c)(3) vocational rehabilitation agency with over 130 years of dedicated experience serving persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment. We are currently seeking to hire a Job Coach to coordinate, implement, and support Community Based Work Adjustment Programs and Job Site Work Experience Programs in diverse vocational settings for all counties served in the Cleveland region.
Responsibilities- Train individuals with disabilities on various job tasks in a variety of settings such as retail, custodial, and clerical to assist them in learning job duties of newly acquired or temporary Community‑Based Work Adjustment (CBWA) assignments. Travel training may also be required for individuals who need to learn how to use public transportation to reach employment.
- Hours are not set and can fluctuate, ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week, depending on the needs of the individuals. Assignments may extend beyond normal hours into evenings and weekends.
- Provide a variety of job‑coaching services, including developing appropriate job‑keeping behaviors, task analysis, skill development for specific tasks, natural supports, and identifying and implementing reasonable accommodations at the job site.
- Advocate for the individual at the job site or work‑adjustment site, and provide referral information for necessary community services that enhance vocational success.
- Prepare and submit thorough daily case notes that chart the individual’s progress, challenges, and receptivity to direction and/or instruction.
- Provide services beyond normal agency hours of 8:00 am—4:30 pm as required.
- Have opportunities to fill in as a substitute at agency facilities located at
E. 55th and Hinckley Industrial Parkway and employer partner sites.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various locations.
- Complete all application questions, sign, and submit the application to be considered for hire.
- Pass BCI and FBI background checks to maintain compliance with Medicaid requirements.
- Pass all database checks required by Medicaid.
