Family Resource Coordinator
Lakewood City Schools is seeking interested and qualified candidates for a Family Resource Coordinator vacancy for school year. Hours per week vary – Determination by Director of Special Programs, Director of Student Services, Building Principal.
Qualifications:
- Social Work License
- College degree in related field (ODE permit required)
Responsible to:
Building Principal/Director of Student Services/Director of Special Programs.
General Responsibilities:
- Support building parent involvement policies.
- Act as a liaison between faculty and parents.
- Assist with ECSE Parent Involvement compliance.
- Promote a positive public relations image.
- Follow adopted board policies.
Specific Duties:
- Develop and oversee Parent Involvement & Community Involvement programs in school buildings.
- Respond to requests for assistance from staff, administrators and parents.
- Assist as member of the crisis team crisis by assessing the situation and implementing interventions as a team member.
- Participate on problem solving teams.
- Support case management when appropriate.
- Make home visits when needed.
- Create an atmosphere which generates a comfort level for parents in the school building through activities which may include monthly meetings, phone calls, and home visits.
- Provides informational programs on topics of interest based on parent suggestions.
- Connect parents with community resources, including social service organizations.
- Improve parent/child connections by assisting with various activities which may include family educational classes, cultural integration efforts, family activity nights, etc.
- Collaborate with staff on the functioning of a parent/community volunteer program in buildings.
- Support PTA/PTO and other community/parent efforts within each building.
- Work in cooperation with other district and city personnel to assist families.
- Maintain documentation of all parent education or involvement activities.
- Support students during early release hours.
