Position: IS Principal Developer Analyst – SAP ABAP

Job Summary

Position:
Senior SAP ABAP Developer.

Reports to:

NAM IS ERP Cross Services-Development Ma. Work model:
Hybrid in Cary, NC or Cleveland, OH.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of ABAP programs, function modules, and reports to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize existing ABAP programs and enhance system performance through effective debugging and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Implement SAP enhancements and customizations using ABAP, ensuring compliance with SAP standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with SAP Basis and functional teams to ensure successful deployments and system upgrades.
Qualifications
  • BS in any field with 10+ years of ABAP development experience and strong understanding of SAP modules such as FI, CO, MM, PP, and SD.
  • Proven experience in SAP ECC RICEFW Development, with ability to work and coordinate with SAP Basis, security, and functional teams.
  • Proficient in performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented programming principles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Deep expertise in ABAP programming language, including ALV reports, BAPIs, and BADIs.
  • Knowledge of SAP Workflow and Smart Forms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP S/4

    HANA migrations and implementations.
  • Experience with SAP HANA, Fiori, and OData services.
  • Good knowledge of ABAP 7.4+ development features, S/4

    HANA extensibility options – Key User & Side by Side Extensibility including CDS views, AMDP.
  • Hands‑on experience on SAP UI5/Fiori development (SAPUI5, Fiori Elements) including knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, HTML5, and SAP UI5 libraries.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP development tools such as Eclipse and SAP Web IDE.
  • Familiarity with APIs and integration technologies for SAP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Strong team player who thrives in collaborative environments and contributes to team success.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that permits them to work for ABB in the US.
Compensation

Expected salary range: $98,700 to $157,920 annually, eligible for short‑term incentive plan/annual bonus.
