Job Location:
Cleveland, OH 44103 – VGS – Cleveland, OH 44103. Education Level: HS Diploma/GED. Salary Range: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour.

Location:
Mobile‑based position requiring daily driving throughout Cuyahoga County to perform participant pick‑ups and provide transportation for program outings and scheduled activities.
Shift: Monday through Friday from 6:45AM to 3:15PM. This is a temporary position starting July6th for 5–7 weeks, with the potential to become PRN (as needed) in a Driver or Rehabilitation Specialist role after the temporary assignment ends.
Status:
Nonexempt.
- Driver safely provides transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities to and from day services at VGS or community sites while driving a non‑CDL rated vehicle.
- Complete a daily trip check prior to each route and note all service needs to Manager.
- Assist passengers on and off the vehicle (as needed) and work with residential staff or VGS staff who may be assisting to load and unload passengers.
- For wheelchair‑bound passengers, secure the wheelchair to restraining devices to stabilize the wheelchair during the trip according to standards outlined in training.
- Know advance trip destination by routing/charting maps and follow the designated route unless a change is reported to Manager.
- Report to Manager via the provided cellular telephone any emergencies, behavioral concerns, or disruptions of service.
- Maintain the highest level of customer service with the participants at all times.
- Complete a detailed cleaning of the vehicle bi‑weekly and manage vehicle servicing with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
- Remove all trash and sweep the vehicle (as needed) at the end of each day.
- Maximize gasoline usage by following fixed routes.
- Park and secure the vehicle at the end of the shift.
- Record mileage and destination information in the Driver’s Trip log daily; keep all insurance, safety, and vehicle maintenance information organized and accessible in the vehicle.
- Follow all Medicaid rules and CARF standards; maintain all required Medicaid compliances and training.
- Complete all required paperwork for Medicaid billing and submit transportation sheets to Manager.
- Immediately report any unusual behavior of passengers or vehicle concerns and follow mandatory reporting guidelines.
- High school education and/or GED plus two years' experience driving; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Driving record with no more than four points (representing two minor or one intermediate infraction) within the last three years.
- Driver must be approved by the agency auto insurance company.
- Must pass all criminal background check requirements for Medicaid compliance.
- To be eligible for hire, applicants must answer all questions on the application and sign the application.
