Driver Centralized Kitchen

Job Summary

Under the direction of the supervisor, delivers food, runs errands, delivers inter‑office mail, picks up and delivers supplies and/or equipment. Performs light maintenance and repair and cleaning duties at designated sites. May transport clients and staff as required and maintains order during the trip. Adheres to organization policies, safety rules and local traffic regulations when operating the organization vehicle. Uses safe procedures for loading and unloading passengers.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for the State of Ohio with less than two points on the driving record; a CDL license is a plus.
• Must be able to safely and competently operate a vehicle.
• Must be able to supervise passenger conduct according to recommended procedures.
• Must be able to give and follow good verbal and written instructions.
• Must conduct oneself in an appropriate and safe manner.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
• Must have an awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served.
• Must pass an FBI/BCI background check.
• Must meet physical requirements, including the ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely and to climb and descend stairs independently while transporting supplies, equipment, and/or food.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

• Use recommended safety procedures to transport designated individuals/groups to needed programs/services.
• Maintain order and safety procedures by passengers.
• Follow local traffic laws and procedures in the safe operation of the vehicle.
• Inspect tires, gas, oil and water to assure the vehicle is kept in safe operating order.
• Request proper maintenance and repair of the vehicle.
• Deliver food, ensuring compliance with Early Learning food handling requirements (such as temperature logs).
• Run errands, deliver inter‑office mail and pick up and deliver supplies as required.
• Perform light maintenance, repair, and cleaning duties at designated sites as required.
• May use dollies and other moving equipment/tools to perform duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
