Basic Function:
Responsible for the proper and safe operation of shuttle buses and transporting passengers.
- Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of bus interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts and assist disabled passengers.
- Be at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
- Possess a valid state‑issued driver’s license to be carried with driver, at all times, while on duty.
- Have and maintain an acceptable DMV record.
- Courteously assist customers by answering any questions they may have; if necessary, direct the customer to the Facility Manager for further assistance.
- Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager.
- Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc. to garage office.
- Substitute for cashiers or valets when authorized.
- Have thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, and major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the garage.
- Assist customers with luggage and other traveling items if applicable (e.g. operating shuttle buses at an airport location).
- Assist Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
Education/
Experience:
Less than high school education or one month related experience, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
License:
Maintain a valid state driver’s license with a current address and an acceptable DMV record.
Availability:
Work 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required.
Language:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos; write simple correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one situations to customers and other employees.
Mathematical:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide two‑digit numbers and ten’s and hundred’s, using units of American money.
Appearance:
Maintain neat and clean appearance, be in uniform at all times.
Physical Demands:
Stand, walk, use hands to handle cash and equipment; occasionally sit, climb, balance; lift and move up to 75 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
Salary Range
: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
