Forklift Driver / Shipping & Receiving

The Forklift Driver / Shipping & Receiving position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a sit-down tow motor to load and unload trailers, move materials, and assist with physical labor and shipping paperwork as needed. This role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and reliable attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a sit-down tow motor to load/unload trailers, containers, and move heavy pallets.
• Perform shipping and receiving paperwork to ensure all transactions are properly documented when drivers arrive and depart.
• Assist with general labor tasks, including cleaning, organizing, and physical work off the forklift
• Communicate effectively with team members, truck drivers, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE, including steel-toe boots.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the shipping and receiving area.
• Uphold company values and work as a team player to meet productivity and safety goals.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience operating a sit-down tow motor in a warehouse or industrial setting.
• Willingness and physical ability to perform manual labor when not on the forklift.
• Must be able to complete shipping and receiving paperwork accurately and efficiently.
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance are crucial.
• Steel-toe boots are required at all times.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a shipping/receiving role.
• Familiarity with basic shipping software or paperwork processes.
• Forklift certification is a plus (but not required if experience is demonstrated).

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, warehouse and dock environment.
• Exposure to indoor/outdoor conditions depending on loading zones.
• May involve noise, dust, and heavy equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift.
• Must be able to climb in and out of tow motor multiple times per shift.
