TITLE:INTERVENTIONIST, PART-TIME (READING or MATH)QUALIFICATIONSMeets the Federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) qualifications including an associate’s degree or 48 hours of college credit or have passed the Para Professional Praxis testMeets the health and physical qualificationsREPORTS TOPrincipal
JOB GOALTo provide assistance to teachers and help students become proficient in reading and/or mathematics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvides small group and/or individual instruction in reading and/or mathematics in grades K-8Writes lesson plans for small group reading instructionDelivers lesson plans according to specified techniquesAdministers screening and survey-level assessments under the guidance of the Response to Intervention FacilitatorAdministers running records under the guidance of the Instructional FacilitatorKeeps accurate records of student work, attendance, and interventionWorks with Response to Intervention Facilitator to monitor student progressManages the behavior of a small group of studentsUses personal computers and/or tablets and software applications for determining and monitoring student progressAttends training as neededPerforms other work-related duties as assigned by the PrincipalPHYSICAL DEMANDSThis job may require lifting of objects that exceed 50 lbs., or the average weight of a child, if assigned to elementary grades, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs., or more. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:
